Something to Think About

Nima
I think Tuck Everlasting asked the readers many questions while they read it. The question that was the most obvious to me and probably everyone else after they read the book was would you want to live forever. In addition there was the question that is a part of the first one was could it be possible to live forever. While reading I found many other things that made me think to myself like could there really be a spring that gave eternal life. To answer all these questions I would not want to live forever because everyone needs to die eventually and I do not think it is possible to live forever either because it is simply not logical. I think when the author wrote the book they purposely tried to add these questions to make us constantly thinking while reading. If these questions weren’t as apparent I think the book wouldn’t have been as interesting because we wouldn’t have anything that keeps us thinking after we read and this would make it less interesting because without the questions you wouldn’t be able to take a more in depth look at the book and actually see the lessons the author is trying to teach you.

I think Tuck Everlasting was a great book. It gave me a lot to think about. It made me wonder about whether having a life on earth forever was better than living a life for a while and then dying. It made me think about whether eternal life after death is greater than eternal life on earth. I think the author was trying to show that eternal life with god is much better than eternal life on earth. The Tuck’s thought that eternal life on earth was horrible. They continually had to move locations and always had to be cautious. This made me think about how hard it would be to live on earth forever without anyone knowing. I think the Tuck’s were trying to keep the well a secret because they didn’t want anyone else to live the way they did. They realized that living eternal with God is greater than living on earth with all the sin eternally. Death can be a scary thing, but I think the author was trying to show that death is greater than life if you know you will be with God eternally after death. I think this book was really interesting; it gave me tons to think about, and I believe that the author had really great morals at the end.

Tuck Everlasting made me think a lot. What if I could live forever? What if the spring in this book actually existed? I think if I had the opportunity to drink this water I probably would drink it. I’d probably want to be less than 35 years old though. I wouldn’t want to live forever if I was very old because my body wouldn’t be in its prime and it wouldn’t be fun to live forever. It seems like it would be a mistake to drink the water but I think temptation would win in this situation. I think this is because most people enjoy life on earth. They just wouldn’t want to give it all up. The life that God gives us on earth is meant to end so we can eventually get the chance to be with and or be sent to Hell. Eternal life can be considered either a gift or a curse depending on how you comprehend it.

Tuck everlasting is a very interesting novel indeed. It has cute teenage romance followed by an intense mystery. I personally loved this novel and found it rather beautiful in picturing all the action happening if this actually was non-fiction.  This whole novel actually made me learn a valuable lesson about life and how short it is, no time for regrets or fights. Tuck everlasting’s main point was this very question, is living forever worth living? The answer, well you tell me. Everyone has a different opinion like mine. I know that living forever does not mean you are actually alive. It just means that you’re there. Like Tuck was there, always there. He wanted to go and follow the circle of life he did not want to remain here forever like a rock.  The rock is there it was there for as long as we know it. The earth is made out of several different rocks. Anyways this book taught me that living forever isn’t worth, wanting to be forever young is not worth it either. Like a 7 year old girl for example ; she was entering a beauty pageant called “Toddlers and Tiaras” She thought one day that she had wrinkles and since she had made it so far in media she didn’t want it to reflect on her career, so she asked her mother to get Botox. Usually in these cases a normal mother would say no, that honey you are perfect the way you are. But no, this mother she went right ahead and gave her Botox. Imagine the person who invented Botox earns millions every single minute of the day. Think about how crazy people will get it they found out something that would stop time itself on them. They would pay thousands, millions billions, trillions for this new injection, surgery or even machine! They would go into frenzy. I personally agree to live life to the fullest, everyone wants time on their hands sometimes to even fast forward or rewind. I know that every person in the world wish they had something that could do that for them. But nothing comes out of those thoughts. Living forever means not going to heaven, not living life eternally up in the heavens above where God lives.  Living forever also means staying here on earth during the rough times. Never dying means never knowing what’s behind the life of our knowledge. I wouldn’t want that. Tuck everlasting gave me something to think about. Something now I know the answer to. Is living life forever worth living? No, no its not. I know this for a fact.

Eternal life is not really worth it. In my opinion it is not because the book is talking about the tucks being immortal and some of them liking it, some of them hating it and some of them accepting it. The tuck were a normal family until they happened upon a magical immortal spring of water. They found out twenty years later when everybody else had aged while they had not aged. Every one they knew ostracized them and thought they were possessed or something. I personally would not want everybody I knew to be dead before I even had a chance to even think about dieing. Is eternal life worth it? I think not. The tucks had mixed opinions on it but I do not. It is not worth it not even for a couple of years because you would not know the pleasures of growing up and you would be thought to be possessed and to be of the devil and if you’re a Christian that is the very opposite of what you want to happen. I think that God would not allow that to happen to any Christian and that he would not allow eternal life on earth other than through him.
